Spanish Levels: Complete Guide to Learning the Language

Spanish levels are a key tool for structuring language learning. They are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which provides a standardized system to assess linguistic competence.

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard developed by the Council of Europe. It provides a common basis for the assessment of language skills across Europe and beyond.

Adaptation for Non-Native Speakers

Teaching Spanish to foreign learners should focus on both cultural and linguistic integration. For this reason, it is essential to adapt content and activities to learners’ needs:

  • Creating a learning environment that encourages interaction

  • Using visual and audio resources to support comprehension

  • Providing real-life contexts to apply the language, such as everyday situations

Courses and Specific Programs

At Giralda In & Out, we offer a wide range of courses tailored to the needs of non-native speakers:

  • Intensive courses focused on practical language use

  • Conversation classes to improve fluency

  • Tailor-made courses adapted to each student’s specific needs

This variety of programs enriches the learning experience and allows each student to find the option that best suits their goals and expectations.

We also offer preparation courses for the DELE certification exam.
Assessment and certification are essential components of Spanish language learning, as they provide students with formal recognition of their level of competence. These exams allow learners to validate their language skills at an international level.

Assessment and Certification DELE Exam

Structure and preparation

The Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) is an official exam that assesses Spanish language proficiency. It is offered at several levels, from A1 to C2. Each level follows a structured format that includes:

  • Reading comprehension

  • Listening comprehension

  • Written production

  • Oral production

Preparing for this exam requires a focused approach to specific language skills, as well as practice in real-life scenarios that simulate exam conditions.

Importance of the DELE

Obtaining the DELE is essential for those seeking academic or professional opportunities in Spanish-speaking environments. This certificate is recognized by educational institutions, companies, and public bodies in many countries, ensuring its global relevance and validity.
